There are tons of resources and tools available for online business owners — honestly, it can be a bit overwhelming! If you’re a new nutrition coach or just starting your business, the influx of advice from others who are just trying to help can feel daunting. People recommend using so many different things, you may not know where to begin. Or maybe you’ve felt like you had to use all of the tools.
In today’s post, I’m going to talk about the top 3 tools to help simplify communication and organization for your online nutrition coaching business. Before we get started, though, allow me to introduce myself for those of you who are new around here!
My name is Tony Stephan, and I’m a dietitian business coach. I help RDs make more IMPACT and more INCOME through nutrition coaching. Before becoming a dietitian business coach and real estate investor, I was a dietitian nutrition coach. I served thousands of nutrition coaching clients over a time span of 12 years. My successful nutrition coaching business is what led me to where I am today with more impact to create and more businesses to build! Now, let’s get into today’s topic!
Top 3 Tools To Simplify Your Work
Tool #1 – Cloud storage
Whether that be OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud, cloud storage is so useful and effective to help streamline your files. This will make saving all of your files, documents, spreadsheets, photos, etc. much simpler, accessible, shareable, and private all at the same time.
I recommend picking one or two (max) and rolling with it. If you have Apple products but like the capabilities of Google Drive, for example, it’s perfectly fine to use both the iCloud and Google Drive. Just read into the pros and cons of each cloud storage service, and pick whatever makes the most sense for you and your business!
Tool #2 – Scheduling programs that sync with your calendar
Programs such as Acuity or Calendly are so useful because they’ll sync with your schedule and allow clients to book appointments. You can even set it up to where the service will answer basic screening questions for clients. This is a really great feature because it can quickly answer clients questions without them having to email, text, or call you several times.
Tool #3 – A business number separate from your personal number
You need a second phone number, not a second phone, to use for all business-related text and call communications. This is especially true if you’re just starting out! You’ll still receive phone calls on your personal phone, but it will be fed through a different phone number. It helps keep your work and personal lives separate, especially once you start getting more clients or referral partners who have your number! You can make it unavailable past certain times, or outside of normal office hours, and have a voice mailbox that is different from the one on your personal phone. There are plenty of ways in which this service is made available, but one of the simplest and most popular ways is through Google Voice.
Summary Of Tools To Use
The tools outlined above are all simple and effective! In my professional opinion, they’re also necessary for online nutrition coaches. There are plenty of other things out there, but the 3 described above are ones I highly recommend to help get you started. As your business grows you may need to obtain a second phone or even a virtual assistant! However, right now just focus on simple and effective tools such as these. Once you’ve read through this post, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Seriously — I WANT to hear from you!
